Code of Conduct

At PickleFit.Club all players agree to conduct themselves in a courteous and respectful manner both on the courts and when observing others playing while awaiting your turn. All participants are reminded the goal is to provide an environment where all players can play the game to the best of their ability and most importantly “have fun” while doing so.

You should be in good physical condition and able to participate in the exercise. If you attend pickleball, you agree that you do so at your own risk, are voluntarily participating in these activities, and assume all risk of injury to yourself. If you have any concerns, please consult your GP before attending.

General Rules

Introduce yourself to any players you do not know.

In social play, rotate on and off courts fairly, courteously, If others have been setting up equipment or waiting longer than you, offer them time on court.

If more than 3 people are waiting to play, only play to 7 instead of 11

Recognize and compliment your partner and opponents when they make good shots.

If you must cross over or behind an active court, wait until play is stopped and cross quickly in a single group to minimize disruption of that game.

Provide coaching and advice only when requested.

At the end of each game, meet the other players at the net to acknowledge them in a positive manner. Move off the court quickly when the game has ended

Don’t start a second match on your court, wait for another court to finish to mix up the players or mix with those waiting

When necessary, please help set up the nets and help take them down and pack them away at the end of the session.

Never use foul language or obscene gestures. Avoid criticism and negative non-verbal communications.

Look after yourself: warm up, cool down, stay hydrated, never run backwards for a ball.

Game Rules

Call out the score every time you serve so that your opponents can hear the score

Practice good sportsmanship when making line calls. Respect your opponents’ right to make all calls on their end of the court. Resolve any uncertainty in favour of your opponents.

Make safety a priority. If a ball strays onto your court, stop play immediately. Make eye contact with the correct person and roll or toss it back to them

If your ball enters another court, do not enter their court. Immediately warn any players whose safety may be in jeopardy by loudly calling “ball”. If the ball is rolling behind their court and does not present a danger to players, do not interrupt play but wait until play stops to retrieve it or ask for its return.

As a stronger player in social play, be kind to other players. Adjust your style when playing with beginners – work on your short game, work on ball placement. Do not slam the ball directly at other players.

The most important rule:

Smile and enjoy yourself!
